There are lot of things a lawyer working in a particular area of specialization can do. When you discuss the sphere of for instance the sphere of International lawyers work its a big canvass depending upon his interest. A lawyer well versed in International Economic law can engage in international arbitration practice, in the are of double taxation, in international patent mapping, in Admiralty matters, in international insurance etc. The list is too long.
Similarly the corporate lawyer can engage in mergers, intellectual property, formation and winding up of companies, and lot. The environmental lawyer has also to choose from ares like industrial pollutions, pollutions resulting from burning of fuels, from noise from nuclear waste and lot.

An international lawyer does anything which has an international element to it. This could be to do with international corporations or companies, matrimonial or family cases where possibly the parties are in different countries, or a child is abducted by one parent to live in a foreign country or some or all of their assets are abroad.
It might also relate to contracts which spread over more than one country, like oil prospecting agreements or supplying and transporting manufactured goods from one country to another, or shipping contracts. It might also cover human rights and things like war crimes, or appealing to an International Court as a higher authority than the national courts. Also it would deal with disagreements over borders and off shore rights (a country’s borders normally extend to three miles beyond its shores) e.g. Russians have recently claimed land under the water in the Arctic where it has melted – this might affect fishing and prospecting rights.
A corporate lawyer deals with all law relating to companies and corporations such as setting them up, dissolving them, rules and regulations and documentation, including agreements, disputes, acquisitions and mergers.
An environmental lawyer has specialist knowledge in environmental issues such as transport of nuclear waste, contaminated land, and preservation of natural resources and animals.
