@migkillertwo Who said anything about “extermination”?! That’s how the ‘religious’ mind works. I only called for a constitutional ammendment. So now the past excesses of the church(when they held power) is equivalent to some ‘killer bicycles’? The problem isn’t christians per se, the problem is christianity/religion.

    “payback for the inquisition”

This is absolutely hilarious. You want to persecute Christians today, who themselves had absolutely nothing to do with a persecution which happened over a thousand years ago(Which, BTW, killed fewer people than children’s bicycles on an annual basis). I suppose you want to exterminate all jews for what Moses did to the Canaanites.

I don’t believe Christians exist. I have never met one. I don’t know any. I have never seen one. To me, they are like ” Bigfoot “. If someone says they are a Christian, all you have to do is spend 15 minutes with them and you will see that they are not. Did Jesus say “all who call upon the Lord shall be saved”? Or did he say ” not all who say lord, lord, will be saved, away from me for I know you not?” Leave your family, think not of the morrow, he who does not hate his.. pure madness.

@Bongofury361 When religion becomes ‘political’, they abdicate their ‘higher calling’ and involve themselves ‘of’ the world. I believe their ‘lord and master’ instructed them to be ‘in the world, but, not of the world’, but, none of the ‘professed’ xians ever listened to their ‘lord’. They don’t want to pray in their closets, as instructed. They do not abstain from ‘pride’, as instructed. They sure as hell do not abstain from “judging”, AS INSTRUCTED! I don’t believe they listen at all.

@migkillertwo Well. “Take up the sword.” I’m fair with a Katana. “That’s not persecution?”. No!! After 2000 years of real persecution, we call it PAYBACK for: burning ‘witches’, ‘heretics’, ‘infidels’, ‘blasphemers’, ‘adulterers’, ‘unbelievers’, ‘pagans’, etc., ……. What fucking gall you xians have. You never fail to underawe me. ‘Jesus’ must be SO proud. THIS!…. is EXACTLY what I am talking about. Those that ‘see it’, see it. Those that don’t, never will. (sigh)

    July 19th, 2010 at 1:39 pm

@migkillertwo NO! It is a ‘real world’ example that the churches and their followers are NOT persecuted. The religious ‘faction’ is just upset that they have had it their own way for so long and they see they are loosing the control of ‘the masses’ and all of their perks. We no longer live in the 50′s. Sorry. I, like others of my ilk, do not wish to hear the words of any “followers’. I want to hear the voice of “GOD”, alone. I have heard enough from “Christians”.

I have said it on other sites, and I will repeat it until I die,….”.All religion is mental masturbation. It is your brain playing with itself. “.

Do you seriously think that churches putting ads in the yellow pages is a form of persecution?

  • migkillertwo
    July 19th, 2010 at 1:39 pm

“I dont believe that jesus ever advised…”

That’s because semi-auto rifles weren’t around when Jesus was alive

“I never used the word ‘persecute” You clearly advocated for the state persecution of religious people. You stated that you want a constitutional amendment outlawing churches and religion.

That’s not persecution? If you dont think that such a hypothetical action fits the textbook definition of “persecution”, then I can’t argue with you.

    July 19th, 2010 at 1:39 pm

@migkillertwo I don’t believe, correct me if I am wrong, that jesus ever advised his followers to make a ‘good investment’ in an AR-15. I never used the word “persecute”, nor do I intend the meaning of the word “persecute”. Take the “Yellow Pages” test. Look in your phone book, wherever you are, and number the entries for churches, chapels, monasterys, or any other houses of worship. I see no “persecution”, except what the religious place upon the “unbelievers”. Do the math. Persecutor! XD

  • migkillertwo
    July 19th, 2010 at 1:39 pm

I dont know what is more disturbing, that someone seriously said that they would want the state to persecute religious people, or that someone’s expression of that sentiment is so highly rated.

an AR-15 never seemed like such a good investment.

“There’s a big difference between kneeling down and bending over” Frank Zappa.
Zappa skewers religion beautifully and aptly in the songs ‘The meek shall inherit nothing’, ‘Dumb all over’, and ‘Heavenly bank account’, from the album ‘You are what you is’ (1981). Check it out…I’m sure you’ll find those songs amusing and spot on in their critique of religion.

I hadn’t considered the aspect of the gov’t sanctioning a religion in order to receive tax exempt status, but that is a very valid point for the removal of that status.
I have always advocated the taxation of churches, mosques, synagogues and temples, as they should NOT get special treatment, and I agree with yeshuafullofit that religion should be abolished!
We would have a more peaceful world without the bane of humankind…RELIGION!

The one’s who want churches don’t realize why It can’t & wont happen. A church can be anywhere, in a person’s home or a “Church building”. It’ so how could the gov. prove if your home is also a church if all the members deny it’s a church?

The reason it won’t happen is it’s political suicide, and most are non-profit organizations. If Churches get taxed so does the red-cross, and charity organizations. If a church gets into politics it does lose the status. Since most don’t, don’t count on it.

I have agreed with this for so long it’s ridiculous. Only organizations that can demonstrate satisfactory community service should be subject to tax exemption (this would happily exclude mega-churches, which are nothing more than carnivals of fraud designed to rake in cash for the proprietors).

@calebhagancaleb I prefer the term ‘ ironic ‘, because the first thing a believer loses is their sense of irony. Look at the ‘Touchdown Jesus’ video. Xian: What? There’s no irony here! I think the term ‘ justice ‘ would also be acceptable. Don’t you think?

@yeshuahfullofit I understand your strong feelings about this, but I wouldn’t go to the extent that you would. You cannot force people to believe or not believe something. If you did you would be doing the exact same thing that religions have been doing to people for thousands of years. Would be a little oxymoronic, don’t you think?

  • yeshuahfullofit
    July 19th, 2010 at 1:39 pm

@calebhagancaleb Also, I am not intrested in the freedoms of ALL men. Just those who care about the freedoms of other men. The religious have continuously shown that they are intrested in nobody’s ‘freedom’ but their own. To hell with them.

    July 19th, 2010 at 1:39 pm

@calebhagancaleb I agree with you, but whining doesn’t bother me all that much. I figure mankind has given religions and its followers enough time to ‘clean up their act’. If they won’t do it on their own, it’s time for the sane folks to put their foot down and say enough is enough. I don’t care about someone’s sweet, dear granny who derives comfort from religion. It’s the ‘dominionists and reconstructionists that I have a problem with. They don’t ASK you to accept jeebuss, they demand it.

@yeshuahfullofit I myself am an Agnostic Atheist, but I couldn’t disagree more with your opinion. If it became plausible to abolish religions through Constitutional ammendments, we would cease to be a Democratic nation that is interested in the freedoms of all men–including the freedom to believe what thou wishes to believe and to express it freely. I would rather convince theists through reason instead of force. Doing what your method would just give them more to whine about.

Tax the churches 100% the billions of dollars that churches acquire through what ever method they use to get it should be taxed because religion is big business a empire of wealth through mind manipulation. The touchdown jesus statue that burned down in Ohio cost that church over a million dollars to build and that is insane. Our economy is suffering while churches suck money in like a super vacuum and all that money if taxed would fix our economy faster than anything.
