When I watched this video you notice that CNN does not discuss why McCain is not taxing the super rich. They are his main sponsors, while Obama got most of his campaign contribution in smaller donations from the middle class.

Your simple Keynesian theory is wrong. The government should cut taxes and lower spending so the people have more money to spend.

Macroeconomics 101, yes government needs to spend more and even if it makes up for it with higher taxes, it will benefit the country as a whole (simple keynesian theory)

Voting systems are rigged.President are chosen, not elected by the people. Democracy is a sham, and almost all opinions in politics are formed by the Illuminati, and anything that is not serving the political agenda of the puppet masters, it is not considered politically correct.

When did we give consent? Are you saying that people don’t have to pay taxes? If that’s true I don’t know why so many people do it. I bet the framers really regretted that “general welfare” statement.

The government shouldn’t spend money in times of recession. That will only make the recessions worse. They need to cut spending and let people keep and spend more of their own money.

    August 13th, 2009 at 8:37 am

It’s not involuntary because we give consent for the gov’t to take some of our money to promote the general welfare, as is its job in the Const. Bureaucrats don’t “stash” the money away or put it in their own pockets. corruption is rare in the US. Plus, the gov’t needs money to spend in times of recession to avoid depressions. Yes, I’m a Keynesian.

I’m not against private enterprise, but there is a key difference between business and gov’t. private business’ #1 goal is profit. Period. gov’t's #1 goal (at least in this country) is public good. Sure, sometimes there is a mixing and the gov’t doesn’t always do a good job, but without gov’t i highly doubt that private companies would have much incentive to prevent pollution, collusion, or unfair wages. deregulation is sometimes a good thing, but definitely not for everything.

Why didn’t they talk about anything between 120 and 2.9 million? Is it because McCain won in every category in between?

Anyway, Obama’s income tax average savings is $20. How’s that for change we need!?

What makes you think private companies don’t want to promote the public good? Are the people in the government inherently better than people who work in private businesses? I don’t think so. Businesses have to promote the public good if they want to make any money. The government is guaranteed the money that it takes from us by force no matter how poorly it does. I would trust a private company over the government any day.

In theory, that is not necessarily a bad idea, in its own way, its in fact a good idea, but there are pros & cons to every choice, you have to remember that private companies only do jobs for themselves, they are there to make money, not to promote the public good, or because they care about people. As for now, I’m not exactly sure how the rest of the country goes about maintaining roads, but it does make sense to tax gasoline and use that among other things to fund public road maintenence.

…In addition, I am not in favor of ANY bailouts. If a business fails do to its own greed & neglect to detail…so be it. The ONLY reason the government donates OUR tax dollars to these failing entities, is self interest…After all, Who do you think funded, and elected this administration? I would start with ACORN, and the Unions.

I am assuming you are responding to a comment I made in regard to government run institutions? If you take a better look at these entities, you will find some discouraging statistics ie USPS going bankrupt, Schools, Fire, EMS, and Law enforcement, ALL suffering layoffs due to mismanaged funding, and inflated books…And soon to be Gov. run health care…Well…You can ask Canada, and the UK just how well thats working out. Why do you think Physicians are moving to private practices in droves?

The income tax only accounts for 40% of the government’s budget. If we got rid of the federal income tax the government would get the same amount of money as it got in 1997. It’s wrong for the government to take money right out of our paychecks anyway. If part of our pay goes directly to the government, how is that any different from involuntary servitude?

last time i checked the fire and police department and in pretty good shape in my town. fires still being put out, police still arresting people and writing tickets.. i hear about a lot more problems in private industry – lay-offs, stagnant and cut wages, ridiculously large bonuses and pensions, money waste, product inefficiency, safety and health code violations, companies asking the government for more and more money…

income tax pays for a lot of disabled and elderly people to get by, and a lot of them are still in poverty because there actually ISNT enough money to go around.

i think it is perfectly fair, if you think about it, the majority of the people making 2.9mil are those scamming CEO’s not many others right this second.

Pardon entertainers, not fair to them.

  • johnedwards1968
    August 13th, 2009 at 8:37 am

That’s a deceptive tax figure. It is the average including the taxes of people who make billions, LOL They are NOT taking an extra 700,000 from someone making 2.9 million. I believe the increase was actually 3% which would work out to an increase of $84,000

Eh, the Illuminati is run by reptilian kin known throughout history as Jinn, Naga, Angels/Demons, Dragons, Dracul, Al Gore, Windsors, Rothschilds etc. that rule the inner circles of Freemasonry and do foul sex&torture rituals. They’ll probably release a bird flu virus via vaccines(or by drones), go to internet 2, start WW3 w/China, have a staged alien invasion(2010) to get a microchipped pop/world gov but they will fail! Support FreemanTV, Alex Jones, Dr.Deagle, David Icke & Project Camelot!

We could privatize the street making business.

There may be some things that the government needs taxes to pay for but it doesn’t need to take in nearly as much of our money as it does now. We don’t need to have an income tax either.
